Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jack Frost!
Jack is a 2.5-year-old pup with a big heart and an even bigger personality. After spending most of the past year in boarding and rescue, including a short stay in Iowa, he’s back and ready for another chance at finding the loving home he truly deserves.
He’s great with other dogs and cats, loves people, and is just a total cuddlebug. Jack wants to be part of a family—he’s goofy, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his humans. He’ll bond strongly with one person (he did here), but he’ll also watch over the whole crew, especially if there are kids. He doesn’t wander far and always wants to keep you in sight. If he can’t see you? He’ll come find you.
He’s playful, smart, and eager to please. He knows basic commands, responds to hand signals, and even puts his own harness on—he’ll stay perfectly still while you strap it up. He pulls a little on walks but settles quickly once he knows the routine. Not leash-trained fully yet, but totally trainable.
Jack waits for his food like a gentleman. He’ll sit and wait for the “OK,” and you can leave food on the table—he won’t touch it. He’s also doing amazing with house training; it’s been over a month since an accident. He loves car rides, loads up without being asked, and is always down for an adventure.
He does need daily playtime and toys to keep him busy—he gets bored without something to do—but he’s mellowed a lot and is learning how to just chill. He’ll zoom around, then crash on your lap (yep, he’s a lap dog). You’ll probably be sharing your bed sometimes too. Whoever adopts him must love cuddles.
Bonus: if you ask him a question, there’s a good chance he’ll spin in a circle like he’s saying “yes!” It’s one of the many ways he shows off his sweet, silly personality.
Jack has lived with his brothers his whole life, but we’ve seen him really shine with one-on-one attention. He’d do great on a farm or in an active home, and he’s even shown herding instincts—though he was too gentle to herd the therapy horses during a short stay on a farm.
He’s alert, protective, and makes a great little watchdog. Small dog, big dog energy. He’s gentle, funny, and just wants to love and be loved. Honestly, he’s one of the best little dogs we’ve ever met.
Are you the one to give Jack Frost the home, love, and life he’s been waiting for?
