My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Koby! Koby may take a while to warm up to people, but then he's a cuddly boy who likes attention. Koby lived with children under the age of six and he enjoyed being petted by them and playing with them. He also lived with two feline friends and a dog, and the whole furry family got along well. His favorite spots for those all-important pets are his head, behind his ears and under his neck. Like many cats, he wishes he had a flashing neon "Do Not Disturb" light on his tummy. Hands off! If he is in the mood to be picked up, you'll end up being licked and kissed. Koby is the kind of cat who sometimes wants to interact with you and sometimes prefers to be left alone. If you bug him when he's not into you, he'll let you know. Take your lead from him. Koby is affectionate, playful and gets high marks in the couch potato category. He hasn't met a toy he didn't like. He can play a little rough, however, so shower him with interactive wand toys and such instead of rough housing him. Koby is a sweet indoor kitty and is looking forward to being indoors with you!

If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways:

Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt.

**the below two methods are slower than visiting us**
Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours.

All cat adoption fees include;
-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
