My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brownie!

He is a gorgeous chocolate boy. Look at those beautiful eyes! He weighs about 50 pounds. His records state he is 2 years old but we really think he may be closer to 6-7 years old.

Brownie has been staying in a boarding facility and we were able to take over his search for a forever home. He is so cute in boarding, doing his happy dance when he sees you, and leaping into the air with all four paws off the ground. He is desperate for his own family though.

Notes from when he was in a prior foster home:

In his foster home, he's been a loving, energetic pup who loves playing fetch with his toys and squeaky balls.

Brownie is smart and treat-driven, which makes him easily trainable. He has been staying in an incredible foster home where his foster dad spent a considerable amount of time training Brownie. Brownie loves to run and be active. If you like to run, jog, hike, and exercise, he'd likely be a great companion.

We recommend an experienced adopter and a home with adults or adults and teenagers for Brownie. Brownie likes playing with other dogs and lived with several dogs at his foster home, but can tend to like his people, food, toys, and bones to himself, probably due to his heartbreaking history.

Brownie has the saddest story: He was left in a backyard after his family moved! We aren't sure how someone could possibly leave him behind, but he got picked up by animal control and brought to a shelter. He was wearing his cute purple cape! Even worse, the shelter was full and euthanizes dogs for space. Luckily he was saved in the nick of time.

Brownie is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

If you think Brownie would make a good addition to your family, apply for him at info@underdogconnection.org

All potential adopters will need to fill out an adoption application and talk to a member of the adoption team to ensure the animal is a good fit for the home. We will also check vet references (if applicable), landlord approval (if applicable) and speak with personal references. We do require a home visit and this can be done virtually.
