My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dog's Name: Gemma

Current Weight: 37lbs

Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs)

Cat Friendliness: No

Apartment Friendly:  No

Physical Fence: Physical fence required, any height

Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time

Potty Trained: Yes

Ideal Home / Adopter: Gemma will thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can channel her playful energy, and she'd be delighted to have a canine companion to join in the fun! This social butterfly blossoms with human companionship, making her perfect for someone who enjoys spending quality time at home. With her eagerness to learn, Gemma is excited to continue improving her social skills and manners alongside her devoted new family.

Likes: Gemma loves her toys! She will carry around stuffed toys all day long and needs a huge toy bin in her forever home. She loves to snuggle on your lap after a long day of playing fetch in the yard. She loves to walk and sniff new areas, she's a slow moving girl to ensure she doesn't miss a smell.

Dislikes: Gemma does not like long hours in her crate while you are away. She could potentially be left out, and we think she would be fine, but really she wants to be near you. She also barks when she first meets people, but it's not a mean or aggressive bark, she just wants them to pay attention to her, to realize she's there.

Gemma is super sweet and honestly a very chill pup once she settles in, she loves to play, snuggle, and give kisses and is ready to find her best friend. She is such a sweet girl, her whole body wiggles when she sees you and she has this cute little whine when she wants attention from you. She will get right next to you on the couch, put her head in your lap and fall right to sleep. She is great with little kids, super patient and just waits for them to love on her. She will make a great family dog.

Gemma's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Anderson, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.

More about this rescue

RESCUEDohio was founded on August 1, 2015 by a group of dedicated animal lovers in the central Ohio area. The founders came from various different vocational backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: the passion to save dogs. Before starting RESCUEDohio, they were previously involved in different aspects of rescue, including fostering, fundraising, coordinating and training. The mission of this group is to help find homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs and to advocate for the rights of all animals everywhere.
