Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This sweet 3-month-old Golden/Poodle mix is adorable, smart, and more of a quintessential Golden! His Mom is a Golden Retriever, and his Dad is a Poodle -- so you get lots of fun energy and extra cuteness in this puppy.
Winston loves water, people, playing and snuggling. He'll make a great hiking and adventure buddy who loves to cuddle up with you when the day's adventures are over.
Winston will need smart, active adopters who enjoy being outdoors and letting him get wet and dirty --- so delightful for a puppy! He's always up for fun, and he's an excellent companion for the right people. Please remember that Golden/Poodle mix dogs will shed a bit -- it's inherent in their genes.
Preference will be given to mountain homes or people who can give him some room to run and play. He's going to be a decent-size guy when he's grown --- probably around 75 lbs. --- and he's a joyful, happy boy who needs to live his best life. We're saying no kids under 8, and no apartments or condos, please and thanks. He'll need a fenced yard to play and pee in.
We will require adopters to do puppy socialization classes AND listen to a few Pod to the Rescue podcast episodes on puppy development, AND sign up for a training program. That way this baby will be on his way to be the best grown-up dog ever!
Neutering and microchipping are included in his adoption fee, as well as one session with the certified trainer on our Board.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Winston, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
Note: Please read about our Adoption Policies before applying. We're a unique rescue with a strong focus on behavior and support for the dogs and cats we find homes for. Feel free to email us with any questions before filling out our application. Thanks.

Additional adoption info
First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.
We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
