My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kane is a stage five clinger and once he loves you all he wants is your love and attention back. This boy deserves someone to give him a real opportunity as he hasn't ever had the stability he needs to succeed.
He’s been in several homes.

Kane is very playful, loves tug of war, loves to hike, LOVES car rides and rides so well. He really is just a good laid back boy. He’d be a great road trip companion.

We were told he was good with kids, but because he’s a big boy and can be rough, we prefer no young kids. He’s had a few meet & greets with other dogs and done very well!

He’s just a handsome lover!

More about this shelter

The Lewis County Humane Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which owns and operates a no-kill animal shelter on the Pine Grove Rd in Glenfield, NY. That shelter is contracted with the townships in Lewis County to house dogs brought in from the townships by the dog control officers. The shelter also houses homeless cats from the county.
Our shelter relies on the generosity of our supporters because shelter expenses far exceed our revenue. We greatly appreciate all your support which enables us to care for and find new homes for all the wonderful animals at our shelter.
