My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Star is the most adorable little Rottie around, with a personality to match! She is beyond sweet, snuggly, and lovable; especially when she greets every person, and dog with a wiggly butt, and invitation for belly rubs, while STILL wiggling! At about a year old and only about 50 pounds, Star has been loving the process of getting some meat on her bones! Whether it's through her training/meal time, a slow feeder packed FULL of her favorite goodies, or tossing her a bone to gnaw on throughout the day. Food is definitely her primary motivator, but not over people! Star is the type of puppy that sticks to your side like glue, never venturing too far off, and very quickly comes when called over! Especially for a treat! Her favorite activities so far seem to be cuddling, obviously, doing tricks, and learning more, greeting everyone, playing in the dog yard with other dogs of all sizes, and ages, and beyond all; being her adorable, genuine, and great natured self. She's the type of puppy we tend to get VERY attached to around here, as we wish they were ALL just like her! We think Star will do amazing in just about any home, especially one that's well-versed with knowledge and or experience with Rottweilers!

My adoption fee is only $310! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter!

Think I might be the right fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!

Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, immune system compromisation, & behavioral concerns.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
