Meet Apollo, the sun god! This boy is full of a zest of verve. He loves playing with his foster siblings and cuddling with his foster parents. He is a very typical orange boy- all good vibes, not as much critical thinking. But that's why we love them!
We aren't sure what happened to his tail before he came to us, but it doesn't seem to bother him and we think it gives him a lot of character. We would love to see Apollo get adopted with his foster brother Purry Mason, or into a home with another kitty friend. This social butterfly has never met a stranger and would thrive in a variety of homes.
RHS Adoption Process and Requirements
Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations and on a flea/heartworm preventative. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit by an RHS representative.
Phone Interview. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview.
Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will coordinate a virtual home visit. We’ll request you send videos/pictures of your home to verify it is safe and welcoming for the cat.
Meet and Greet. Once your home visit is complete, we can coordinate a time with you and the foster parent/s to meet the kitty you’re interested in.
Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $125 for cats, and payable by Paypal, Venmo, cash, or check. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets.
