My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Enzo! This sweet and energetic guy is excited to meet new people and is always ready for a fun adventure. Although he hasn't had any formal training, Enzo is eager to learn and would thrive with a patient and understanding guardian who can help him with his good manners. He's very playful and food-motivated, making training a great bonding opportunity.

While Enzo has had canine friends before, he can become overstimulated and struggles with communication around other dogs. A home where he can be the only pet would be best. Enzo also needs training to manage his resource guarding behaviour around food with other dogs. If you have questions about this topic, please reach out to the staff to discuss!

This charming boy loves being active and would make the perfect hiking buddy, though he does need some work on leash manners since he tends to pull when excited.

If you're looking for an affectionate, playful dog who's ready to learn and explore the world with you, Enzo might just be the perfect match!

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
