Animal Profile: Fanny is a 10 week old Lab/Aussie mix (best guess) who joined us from Texas on 09/07. Her mom is a purebred Chocolate Lab that was purchased from a breeder, and wound up in the wrong hands when her family had to rehome her when they moved. Mom was allowed to free range, and had multiple litters, but this will be her last! Based on the coat types and size, we think dad was probably an Aussie type. Mom Cocoa has a sweet temperament; she’s friendly with dogs, cats and kids. These puppies are being raised in a foster home with other animals and small children, and will be great family pets.
Foster Update: Fanny is a littel smaller than her sister Penny, but is more active and seems to be more in charge. She’s been fearless exploring her new surroundings, but is cautious around the other dogs and the cats. She’s starting to be interested in playing with the other dogs, but isn’t overly pushy. When she and Penny play, they mostly wrestle and chase and even with her smaller size, Fanny holds her own with Penny. They are both very competitive (for laps, for toys, for pets, etc), but settle down nicely and snuggle together when they’re tired.
Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
