My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ARCHER NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Archer        Best Guess for Breed:   Beagle mix

Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of September 2024       SEX:    male

Approximate Weight:  30 lbs.

Gets Along With:  other dogs! We tested Archer with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Archer could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We have not observed Archer with kids but we can test.

Currently Living at: the shelter, Archer needs a foster and a forever home.

Archer is Looking For:   Lively and affectionate, Archer dreams of a home where he is welcomed into the pack. He would love to spend quality time with you by going for long walks, playing games, and cuddling on the couch. Beagles are known for their energy and curiosity, and Archer will need daily exercise to stay happy and healthy. Trips to the dog park or doggie daycare will help him enjoy a robust social life with other canines.

Beagles love to sniff and explore, which can sometimes lead to mischief. The world is full of exciting scents so be sure to keep Archer on leash unless you are in a fully-enclosed area. Consistency and training will help Archer learn to be the best boy he can be. Beagles are loyal companions so shower him with love and you will be rewarded with affection for a lifetime.

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update as soon as Archer arrives and spends some time with a foster.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
