Are you looking for puppy fun vibes without all the peeing and biting? Then Scoops might just be the little man you need in your life! This sweet, sassy and silly terrier boy loves to play, go on long walks and entertain you with his antics. He’s high energy but will instantly settle down with some chest pets and face scratches and wants nothing more than to snuggle with you when he’s all tuckered out.
Scoops is potty trained and goes to our back door to signal that he needs to go out. He is crate trained and can be crated with minimal fuss. He may bark or whine for a couple minutes, but quickly settles down, goes to sleep and sleeps through the night. He has wiry hair that is low shedding and does not seem to be a heavy chewer.
Scoops is a big fan of other dogs and loves to roughhouse with them. He will do well with other playful, assertive dogs of all sizes, and played well with the 15lb and 85lb neutered male dogs at his temp foster. His rowdy play style is a bit too much for submissive or low energy dogs.
On leash, Scoops is an energetic walker who would make a great hiking or running partner. He’s just starting to work on basic commands for the first time.
We think Scoops will flourish with an active person, couple or family who can give him at least 2 hours of walk time per day. He’ll do great with a well-matched dog but will also be fine as an only dog if given plenty of playtime and attention. Scoops takes treats gently and we think he’d do well with kids age 7 and up (he’s a bit rambunctious for the littles). He has not been cat tested but is easily redirected from outdoor cats during walks.
