Please give Filbert a warm welcome! This fine young fella is approximately 2.5 years old, despite having a face of a more seasoned (and distinguished) gentleman.
He is a fun boy with a sparkling personality, ever curious and wants to be involved in whatever you are doing. He is an athletic bulldog and loves to go on long walks, play and run. He has also played/refereed a few pickle ball matches for us! Fil is always ready to snuggle with you and sit in your lap or take up his half of the bed-we won't say which half just as long as he is next to you! Sitting on the deck and watching the neighborhood activities is a guilty pleasure and he would much appreciate it if you just gave him his own chair right next to his best friend (yes that's you!).
Filbert is fully potty trained and will let you know when he has to go out with a little whine. Filbert is also crate trained and will sleep in it quietly at night, but he needs about 30 minutes of snuggle time first to get him ready. Fil does well at home during the day when his humans are off making a living to support the lifestyle he deserves, just give him a bed or comfy place by a window and he will nap and relax until you return.
Ever the gentleman on a leash, but would prefer a brisk pace, remember he is an athlete! He loves other dogs and is very sweet and submissive. It's looking like he would do well in an active and lively home as he is a social butterfly. He just wants to be a part of the pack, whether it's his doggy friends or humans! However, sometimes he doesn't realize his size and would do better in a home with older children.

If you are matched to the dog you are interested in or another dog in our program, you will be contacted by the foster family. Prior to adopting, there is a mandatory home evaluation to ensure your home and family are ready for that dog. We require a contract for all adoptions and there is a two-week trial to ensure a good match. If for any reason you can no longer care for the dog you adopted from us, that dog must be returned to our program.
