My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Triss. Like all my siblings, I was named after a character in a book. I am a fierce fighter just like the Triss in the book. When I was born, I was tiny. My human mom tried to bottle feed me so I could keep up with the others. I was not about to have that! I am fighter! Not only did I refuse the bottle, but I found my own place to nurse. I did not need help and I still don’t. I am an independent girl. I don’t like to be squished or blubbered over, but I will allow quick pets. My human mom keeps petting me and picking me up so I’ll “get used to it”. Don’t tell her, but I kind of like getting loves. I have grown a lot and I can give my brothers a run for their money when we wrestle. I would like another cat in my new family that will play and wrestle with me. I have good house manners; litter box trained, scratching post trained, polite with my foster siblings. My human mom has the audacity to trim my front claws, but I’m getting used to it. As long as she doesn’t take a toe off. My foster siblings are a bit intimidating because they are so big, but I know they are scared of us, too. My human mom says they are big babies. I don’t know any small humans, but the big ones are ok. I haven’t met any dogs or other animals, but I could probably be friends as long as they are polite. If you want a spunky girl to liven things up for you, then I’m your girl.

More about this rescue

Since our formation in early 2013, we have helped save thousands of cats and dogs throughout Idaho from neglect, abuse, and death. Many of our rescues come from the Burley Idaho Animal Shelter where PAWS has transformed what was once a high kill facility to a shelter where every adoptable animal gets a second chance! PAWS also takes in stray pets from all over Idaho including Twin Falls, Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. We work our very hardest to respond to every call for help!

PAWS Rescue, Inc. saves all breeds of cats and dogs of all ages as well as animals who have been hit by cars, shot, abandoned, abused, and neglected.

Rescued animals are placed in loving foster homes or transferred to other no kill partner facilities giving them a chance to find the perfect forever home. Our efforts give these deserving animals a second chance at a happy life.

Every animal receives veterinary evaluation and care, including spay/neuter and vaccines, as well as treatment for any other medical issue they may have. No animal is ever euthanized due to expense.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about PAWS Rescue, Inc. !
