My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Say Hello to Whiskey!**

Get ready to meet the pup who's here to steal your heart and bring endless joy to your home! This charming little guy mastered the doggie door in less than a day-talk about a quick learner!

Whiskey is a playful bundle of energy who loves to chew on everything he can find (watch out, shoes!). He gets along fabulously with his furry friends and is always up for a game of chase!

With his spirited personality, he's food-motivated and eager to learn. He's already making great strides in basic obedience, walks well on a leash, and has even figured out how to bark-just in case you need a little extra enthusiasm in your life!

Whiskey enjoys playtime but also appreciates his crate, especially when there's a tasty treat involved. He's been neutered and, while he may have chewed through his cone afterward, his surgery area healed up just fine!

More about this rescue

Hound Rescue is always in need of foster homes. We do not have a shelter so our ability to rescue is limited only by the number of families willing to take in a beagle in need. If interested go to http://houndrescue.com and click on "How to Foster."

Hound Rescue started in Austin, Texas in 1998. We are a small group of individuals who foster dogs in our homes. Hound Rescue also provides placement assistance to both shelters and others who need to find homes for hounds who for whatever reason have become stray.

Most of our animals come from high-kill facilities where they were scheduled to be euthanized. Because of the huge numbers of unwanted dogs, Hound Rescue Texas can only take owner surrenders on a limited basis as space permits in our foster home network.
