Fate is apx 13 pounds and one year young. She was tied to a pole on the side of the highway. Rescued by a good human and brought to us. She was so hungry and dirty. I am not sure what Fate has gone through in the past, but she has warmed up to us quickly and is learning to “DOG” I believe she lived a very sheltered life before coming to us possibly constantly locked in a kennel or space or tied up outdoors in a small area. She spent the first week here terrified and scared and would not leave her room, she would potty in her area and just lay in it. Thankfully that did not last long however she is developmentally delayed for her age. She acts like a baby puppy even though she an adult. She is mouthy and always putting her mouth on people and other animals but never hurts or bites down. She loves to play with dogs but does actually understand how to play, this is something she is just learning. She was very scared of the other dogs and we had to introduce them to her slowly, now she never leaves them alone and wants to play all day . She loves others dogs but needs a slow introduction, especially to bigger dogs. She still gets scared easily of new things and loud noises, but she has really come a very long way in a short period of time and I know she will continue to blossom. She gets attached to her people quickly . Fate still lets out a little cry if you pick her up too fast or swiftly. She needs positive reinforcement only. Love. Care. Routine. Patience. She is a true rescue dog and we can not wait to see her SHINE !
