Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Utah was taken into foster care with his siblings after his mama cat was hit by a car. He was he smallest of the litter, and he demonstrated a keen love for life right from the start. It became apparent very quickly that Utah was visually impaired, a condition called microphthamia. Not that this stopped this little warrior, he grew, developed and thrived along with his littermates; running and climbing, wrestling with the best of them. And, yes sometimes getting in over his head, requiring rescuing by foster mom or his brother Ursa. Utah has some vision, how much we don`t know yet, but he navigates his world very competently. His major deficit is depth perception...he climbs to great heights but can`t seem to figure out how far it is to get down. Then he sings the song of his people in a very demanding little voice until someone comes to rescue him. Utah is a sweet and lovely wee fellow...and an intrepid little adventurer. He simply doesn`t know he`s visually impaired!
Utah is special needs and cannot be fully assessed for another few weeks before adoption will be possible, he`s simply too small and his eyes are too tiny for a thorough examination. He`s very cute although he does resemble a baby opossum!

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
