My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET AND GREET BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

Meet Fiel, a playful yet determined German Shepherd with a keen intellect and a heart brimming with affection. This charming boy already has a solid grasp of many commands and is eager for new adventures. Fiel is a driven and loyal companion, but he does have some fears and anxieties that will benefit from a dedicated adopter with previous experience in handling working dogs. He thrives in an active household with no children under 12, where he can fully engage his energy and intelligence.Fiel`s ideal home includes a securely fenced yard and an active lifestyle featuring long walks, runs, or hikes, along with regular training sessions. An established and confident dog in the home would be perfect for guiding Fiel, helping him build confidence and learn from a role model. With patience, dedication, and the right environment, Fiel will grow into a courageous and loving companion. If you’re ready for a fulfilling journey with a remarkable dog who will be both your loyal friend and enthusiastic exercise partner, Fiel is ready to meet you! Fiel was brought into the shelter on July 11th, 2024 as a stray. He was brought into the shelter on July 11th, 2024 as a stray. He has been nuetered, microchipped and he is up to date on all his vacciantions. We strongly recommend calling the shelter between 11am and 4pm to discuss more details about my background with our behavior team!

More about this shelter

What is it and why do we do it?

We "go the extra mile" to help assure that, when you adopt a pet from HSVB&IRC, you'll be making an informed choice. By matching an animal's personality to yours and your lifestyle, we're more likely to assure that you make the right adoption decision the first time.

We are using a program developed by the ASPCA. It is called "Meet Your Match." Currently, we evaluate dogs and cats before we make them available for adoption.

Also, we ask each prospective adopter to complete an Adopters' Survey which helps identify factors in their lifestyle which might guide their choice of animals. Then, we compare the findings to make a match.

Proudly, we have a very high adoption retention rate — a fact we credit to taking this extra step in the adoption process.
We want you to make a "SAFER" choice, too.
In addition to Meet Your Match, HSVB&IRC has implemented the ASPCA’s Meet Your Match SAFER™ (Safety Assessment For Evaluating & Rehoming) program - a tool for assessing the probability of future canine aggression. Ask us for more details.
