HI there, I'm Nymeria, the sweetest kitten in town! I ended up here after a hilarious mix-up. You see, I was chasing a laser pointer that led me straight into the shelter. Can you believe it? I thought it was a secret agent mission, but it turned out to be a one-way ticket to a new home! I'm playful and curious, always up for a fun game or a new adventure. I'm also smart, friendly, and gentle, making me the perfect companion. I'm brave too, not afraid to explore or meet new friends. But what I really want is a family to call my own. Adopt me and I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of purrs! I hope yoi have another cat at home or I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings

Adopt-A-Pet Events in the Kansas City Area

Cat adoptions are held at the PetSmart at 115th and Metcalf in Overland Park KS every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00. Cats available for adoption every day at PetSmart in-store cage area.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Olathe KS at 119th and Strang Line, every Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00.

Dog adoptions are held at the PetSmart in Lee's Summit MO at 920 NE Sam Walton Lane, also every Saturday from 12:00 and 3:00.

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs).
