Here's what the humans have to say about me:
* Captain Jack is eligible for the Foster-to-Adopt Program! *
Meet our handsome boy, Captain Jack! He's a 2 year old Shepherd Mix that's looking for the perfect home with some special criteria. Captain Jack was brought to the Humane Society as he was found wandering around as stray. He's a sweet, intelligent, and active fella. He enjoys romping around in the yard, dipping his toes in the kiddie pool, going out on walks, and participating in enrichment games. Cap. Jack cannot go home with other animals due to his reactivity, he just wants to be your one and only! He absolutely adores people, but young children tend to spook him out. He has done very well with the shelters potty routine and schedule, as he seems to be housetrained. He'll just need some time to learn his new families routine. He's already neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. He'll be waiting for you at the Benbrook Waggin' Tails Adoption Center; open daily from 12-6 p.m. If you have any questions about him or the adoption process, call 817-249-3647.

More about this shelter
Our History
The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) was founded in 1905 and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While the organization’s name has evolved from the Fort Worth Humane Society in 1905, to the Tarrant County Humane Society in 1910, to the Humane Society of North Texas in 1982, its focus has always been on caring for animals in need. HSNT provides services such as pet adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations and humane euthanasia. HSNT operates four pet adoption centers and a quarantine facility in Tarrant County, as well as an equine and livestock ranch located in Johnson County.
