My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Im Penny, a Catahoula mix. I am 8 years young and unspayed. I plan on being fixed soon to help prevent certain cancers. When coming into Cross Your Paws I have been nothing but a happy girl .I have some anxiety since I have lived in a kennel outside for awhile. I am learning how to be a dog again. I jump alittle bit when I am excited but once my inital excitment is over, I calm down. I do pull alittle bit on the leash but for a dog who hasnt been on one for awhile, I would say I am better then some! I am picky when it comes to treats ... that what they tell me since Ive left peanut butter ones on the floor but chowed down on beef sticks. I dont need another dog in the home, I have not been cat tested, and I would do best in a home with children over 10... just because im a bit strong and jump. Also I do amazing in the car, I laid down all the way to the vet and they even said I was a sweetheart. I havent barked or growled since being here and I am so happy to be finding a comfy bed to rest my little paws.

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
