My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Special Adoption Offer: Half-Off Adoption Fees!

In loving memory of her mother, Gail Suter—a true animal lover—one of our wonderful adopters has generously sponsored half of the adoption fees for five of our longest residents. These amazing dogs—Sprite, Chic Pea, Big John, Tank, and Indie—have been waiting patiently for their forever homes, and now it’s their turn to find a family to love.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion, now is the perfect time to adopt. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to give a deserving dog a second chance.

Cheerful Chic Pea!  Chic Pea is a hound mix that was found as a stray covered in fleas and she had a skin infection.  The fleas are gone and we are working on her skin infection, which is almost gone.  She's a sweetheart and happy girl.  She likes other dogs and all people.  She was too curious about our test cat, so we would be cautious of putting her with any cats.  She's only had a couple of accidents overnight, so we think she is housebroken.

Please Note:  You must live within a 175-mile radius of our facility to be considered for adoption.

To fill out an online application to adopt this pet, cut and paste this link:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/2627/generic

Or you can find a link to our online adoption application on our website at www.hartforanimals.org/adopt - or on our Petfinder homepage.  We process applications in the order they are received, therefore, it could take UP TO 2 weeks for us to respond to your application. Please do not send us an inquiry unless you have specific questions.

All our dogs/puppies are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, Bordetella, and distemper/parvo, given flea medication, heartworm tested, and given a microchip before going to their new home.
