My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I am Biggie Smalls - or 'Buddy' - a charming and uniquely adorable 6.5-year-old who is searching for a new forever home after a long period of uncertainty in my life. I am a lovable mix of big-dog confidence and cozy-cuddle vibes, with my kinda-Corgi good looks and expressive brown eyes. I am looking for people who can offer me the attention and consistency I crave. I have a moderate energy level, which means I can be relaxed sometimes and playful at others. I do best with daily walks (and walk well on a leash!) and some mental stimulation; I love eating from my snuffle mat. I would love a yard in my new home where I can stretch my legs and explore. I am responsible around the house - my foster parents say I've had zero accidents! I'm also good while my people are away; I might cry a little but I'll settle down and sleep until you're back. I am a great co-pilot on car trips. I love my toys, but don't worry, I won't chew on anything that's not my toy! I'm pretty chill and will follow you around the house because I just want to be in the same area as you. I also know when it's bedtime and head to my bed and wait for my people to tuck me in. I can be a little stubborn and do things on my own time, but I'm learning commands and will just need your help to continue to learn! Let's find a new adventure together, and I promise to bring lots of love and charm into your life!

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
