My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello world, I'm Bear! I'm what the shelter people call a 'stray'. I don't know why my family didn't claim me, because I'm a very nice and smart boy. I was picked up by animal control in July and transferred to Upper Credit in August. I was neutered and brought up to date on vaccines, and now I'm ready to find a new home with a nice family. I am shy with new people and new situations, but everyone has been patient and now I'm showing more of my personality. Here is a bit about what the staff have to say about me...

We may not have any history on Bear, but we can tell you that he has been a perfect gentleman with us. We estimate Bear to be around 5 years of age, and his maturity shows in his disposition. Bear is clean in his kennel, shy but gentle with the staff and volunteers, and not reactive to the other dogs in his pod. After a bit of time, Bear started to let his personality shine and has become a very playful pup. He has experienced a lot of change in the last couple of months, so he's hoping to find a home where he will be allowed to decompress and adjust to his new family. He keeps his distance at first, but once he feels confident in someone, Bear readily comes in for a snuggle and a butt scratch. He loves to explore, go on scent safaris, and do zoomies around a large yard. Bear's eyes light up for food and he is very smart, so learning new skills would be a wonderful way for him to gain self-confidence while building trust in his adopter. Bear has demonstrated a prey drive chasing birds and squirrels, and he loves to chase the ball, so cats and small animals may not be the best roommates for him.
