My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello
My name is Boomer
My vet estimates my age around 3 months old. We don’t know for sure , because I was found with my sister running down a country road in the middle of the day. Nobody ever claimed me so off to a foster home I went.
I am a very friendly boy . I tend to very vocal in letting everyone know I am excited and need attention. I love to run and play. My sister teases me, and I just have to chase her all around the yard trying to get the stick she is keeping away from me. I live in a fancy kennel outdoors but have started in the house. I have used puppy pads but prefer to be let out in the yard to potty. I am still a young fellow, so not perfect! I have my first collar on this week and don’t mind it a bit. Next step is learning this leash stuff.
I really love attention and eager to learn new things. I saw my first donkey and cow yesterday and I was mesmerized.
I am micro chipped , neutered and have had most of my age-appropriate vaccinations. My adoption fee covers transportation from Tennessee and a health certificate to travel .

Additional adoption info

Safe Haven Animal Rescue Program (SHARP) is based in rural Polk County Tennessee. We have no shelter or animal control in our county. Currently we are the only 501C3 non-profit in the county. We advertise our animals out of state ,which gives them better odds of a happy long life.
Our dogs and cats are fostered in TN with loving families. You will have the opportunity to speak with the foster of the animal you are interested in. All our Cats and Dogs are completely vetted ,which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations , microchipped (dogs only)and heartworm testing (dogs) . All of them come with complete medical records ,which travel with them. Their adoption fee covers a health certificate from the vet and transport fee.
Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the Michigan area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs and cats are transported up to their new owner’s biweekly! We have a 14 day no questions asked money back guarantee and the dog/cats can be returned to us if things don't work out. We try hard to get good matches in our homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date we have placed over a thousand dogs and cats in loving homes!

More about this rescue

2008 a small group of animal lovers met and started a group to be named Safe Haven Animal Rescue Program (SHARP). These animal lovers personally saw the effects of a rural county with no animal shelters. Polk County is in the far South-eastern corner of Tennessee. It is a very rural county with most of its 442 sq. miles belonging to the Cherokee National Forest. Unfortunately, the beauty of the mountains and forest has drawn people to drop family pets off to survive on their own.
SHARP’s dedicated members knew becoming a 501(c)3 would help with fund raising and achieve long term goals. With our new status achieved, SHARP put together a new mission statement and strategic plan to guide the group forward.
Our group consists of hard-working everyday volunteers with the passion to give time and love to every dog or cat taken in. Currently we use a foster based program to house our dogs and cats. Each dog or cat taken in is given all vaccinations, heartworm checked (dogs)and spayed/neutered before being offered for adoption. SHARP dogs and cats are kept with their foster parent and treated like a member of their own family. The foster-based system allows us to give detail to potential families about each dog’s and cat's characteristics and needs. Of course, the tears flow when it is time to hand a dog or cat over to a new family, but the tears are always followed up with a smile knowing one more dog or cat has a forever home.
