My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wyn and her 5 kittens were found living outdoors as strays. They were scooped up and have been in foster care for the past 4 weeks and are thriving.

Wyn is a friendly, calm, and gentle kitty. Wyn is exceptionally food motivated and will attempt to break into any human food that is left on the countertops, table, or recycling. She loves nothing more than food and is very chatty around meal time! Wyn is easy going and enjoys being pet, lounging around, and scratching on the cat tree.

Wyn is suspected to have an extremely mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is a neurological condition where the cerebellum is smaller or underdeveloped leading to coordination/balance difficulties. Wyn can occasionally be wobbly when jumping on or off of a surface but otherwise she gets around just fine!

Wyn has low-moderate energy and would be suited to a quieter home. Wyn is not a fan of dogs and may do best as the only pet in the household.

Wyn is looking for a foster to adopt home in Nanaimo region while she waits for her spay appointment. Apply to adopt today!

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort
