Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This distinguished gentleman is Edgar Allan Poe. He's a sweet, mischievous rabbit who would be a fabulous match for anyone new to rabbits and for families.
Edgar was recently in his first foster home, and they shared that they had a wonderful time with him! He likes looking for small spaces to squeeze into and has an affinity for chewing on wood and charging cords, so bunny-proofing is a must. Edgar is very social and will follow you around the house, hoping you'll drop a yummy treat for him or spend time on the floor with him cuddling. He'll run up to you for pets and will become a flat pancake when you give him pets. He also likes to hop up onto chairs, or onto your lap to see what you're eating. When Edgar is really relaxed, he'll flop hard and even roll on his back to show you how content he is. He likes to flop down anywhere he can keep an eye on his humans.
Edgar is very active and doesn't like being penned or away from people. He's a smart boy who has figured out how to push the gates of his enclosure open. He could be a free-range rabbit if enough bunny-proofing is done. He loves to explore and run around the house. He's quick to eat his food pellets and likes when they're put in a paper towel tube for him to push around to get the pellets out for some good brain exercise.
Edgar Allan Poe is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

More about this rescue
Since 1988, House Rabbit Society, its supporters, small staff, local chapters, licensed educators, and other volunteers around the globe have been advocating for the care and well-being of rabbits.
Our goal is to help people see rabbits as intelligent and social pets who thrive indoors. HRS’ mission, philosophy, and policies have influenced the formation of many other nonprofit rabbit rescue groups and set a standard for the treatment and respect of domesticated rabbits. As a nonprofit, we rely on membership support and other donations–large and small. HRS financial documents are provided below, which record our programmatic efforts over the past decade.
