My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $275, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Hi, my name is Ducky! My foster mom named me and my brother Petrie after The Land Before Time movies.
I love to play with as many toys as possible. I love to take naps and sleep on my foster mom as often as I can. I enjoy giving love bites and zooming around the house. I am good with my other cat foster siblings and love chasing my foster sister around the house. I am a little shy around new people at first, but after I come to say hello and get some nice gentle pets, I will feel more comfortable as our bond is built!
I was found by a Good Samaritan and they called my foster mom's job and she offered to take me and my brother in. I would do best with another kitten to play with since I loved playing with my brother. My foster siblings are older and don't play with me much and I have lots of energy to burn! I'm hoping to find my forever home, but in the meantime I'll be taking naps on my foster mom.

Ducky is about four months old, he is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with his vaccinations.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
