Introducing Talulah! (Descriptor: Stunning)
This gorgeous polar bear is Talulah! She is a special girl looking for her special family and her special forever home!
Talulah is a stunning Great Pyrenees girl. She is a little over a year old and weighs 70 pounds. She will likely become a bit larger.
Talulah has a story in that she did not have a great beginning to her life. She lived alone outside in an enclosure without any human interaction at all for the first year of her life. Despite that lonely existence, she has quickly settled into her foster home where she has been for the past two months and she is happy and thriving!
She has decided that she is very much an indoor dog- she likes to play outside for a short time with her dog pals, then she will scratch at the door to come back inside. She had enough of the outdoor life and does not wish to return to it. Once back in the house, she is a big fan of playing with her toys and lounging on her couch.
Talulah’s foster mom is working on building her confidence which was taken away from her in her previous home. She feels safest playing inside and exploring the house slowly with her crate nearby and left open for her to retreat back into when she feels the need to be in her safe place.
She loves other dogs, large and small, and needs a home with at least one other dog. Her two best friends right now are a Bully breed and a Jack Russell, she is friends to all sizes of dogs. She also does well with cats, sheep, and even a parrot!
She is learning to walk on a leash, but once she leaves the area where she is comfortable, she will become frightened – this is something her foster mom is working on but she may not ever love going for walks far from home. She currently walks around the neighborhood, and she is becoming more confident doing that. We realize that her acclimation to her new lifestyle is not a quick process.
She is slow to warm up to people, but when she does, she is the sweetest and will be sure to make you smile! She will paw you for attention and when she gets really excited, she zooms around you! Because of her sensitive nature, she would do best in a quiet and patient home without young children to give her the time she needs to really blossom!
Adoption requirements:
Talulah can only go to a home with children 16 years or older. There will be no exceptions.
A visible fence is required for adoption approval for Talulah.
Talulah must continue to be an indoor dog.
The Pyrenees breed has some distinct characteristics:
As a breed, they are independent thinkers; they aren’t naturally big, white golden retrievers looking to please. Talulah must have training from a professional trainer and have an adopter who will commit to reinforce her learning.
Her long, thick fur will need brushing very often. Otherwise, there will be much shedding.
Please research the breed to consider if the breed would be a fit for your family.
Talulah’s adoption donation fee is $450 which includes vaccinations, spay and a microchip.
If you are interested in meeting this one of a kind girl, please submit our Tara’s House adoption application!
