My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Waffles came to us as a singleton. He learned to play and cuddle with other kittens after a slow integration. He used to puff up whenever he saw another kitten or a dog, but he's mellowed down a lot! Typical for a singleton, he was a hard biter, but he's also learning to be gentle when he takes a treat from a human hand. He loves to play with toys, chase a treat around. He comes when called and he's comfortable having his nails trimmed. He and Grits get along the best. We find them playing and cuddling more than others. They are not a "bonded pair", but we would love them to be adopted together if possible. Watch more videos to learn more about Waffles and his friends. https://www.facebook.com/bordernerd/
He is in Houston, TX, however we do consider out of state adoptions. We kindly ask that adopters come and meet our kittens in their home. We do not ship our kittens for their safety and well being.

Additional adoption info

Upon receipt of your application, a volunteer will contact you to conduct a phone interview. From there, if you have other animals, we will perform a veterinary reference check to confirm your current animals are current on all vaccinations. We will also contact at least two personal references before continuing with your application. Once those items are complete, we will contact you to schedule a time to meet with you in your home. All application information will be verified, and we screen prospective adopters thoroughly for approval.

Once approved, you will be notified by email and work closely with our volunteers.

It is important to us that both you and your new family member are happy. As a result, we do our best to understand your expectations for your new family member and match you with a dog that meets your expectations as closely as possible. We desire that none of our dogs ever find themselves “back in the system.” Therefore we place our animals only into pre-approved homes.

More about this rescue

Border Kitty Rescue Division was created under Border Collie Rescue & Rehab-501 (c)(3) to save orphaned kittens. Our mission is to save orphaned kittens, provide them with medical care, once stable, we provide basic training, enrichment and socialization. All our kittens will be raised by Border Collies, Aussies and/or fabulous mixes, so the kittens will be comfortable with dogs in general. Once you adopt from us, you will be part of our BCRRT family. We believe in a life time commitment and our volunteers will stay in touch with all adopters so that we can continue supporting and sharing updates. Kittens will be dewormed, vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We save Texas kittens, but we do adopt out of state.
