My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Critter Cavalry rescue is very excited to offer this most unusual dark grey and white, young 8 months old  Aussie mix girl called Kona. She has been the sweetest,  most gentle dog and is going to make some family extremely happy. At just 35 lbs. and destined to grow no more than 40 lbs. as a full grown adult, Kona Will be a perfect medium sized love muffin. When you touch her fur you will find the softest coat that is shown beautifully in unique shades of dark grey, black and featuring  white accents of color.  She is wonderful around other dogs, cats, and she really likes children.  There is a little hesitation on her part when around tall imposing men. This has to do with her early life where she was born in the backyard of a poor family that had lots of dogs that were neglected and ignored.  We think the man of the house spoke harshly and treated all the dogs with some hard-handed physical contact.  Critter Cavalry is ready to change her world and she promises to change your world too.

She is very easy going and laid-back when she wants, but Kona does enjoy a fenced yard to run around in. She's crate trained and pretty much housebroken but does need more leash walking training. Sometimes when she is nervous you literally have to pick her up and move her. We have had her two weeks now and she has come a long way. She is ready for someone else to take over the love and training and reassurance that she needs.  She like a sponge with her sharp intelligence and quick mind. This tender-hearted girl is looking for a kind owner who is patient and yet strong in their commitment to help  find her confident groove in life.  She is so very young and so very moldable and she constantly looks for your affirmation and encouragement. This girl is a rare treasure to find.  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Please mention what city and state you live in. Kona is currently in Nashville Tennessee but we also adopt to families in the Northeastern states.  We have weekend transport access for a family wanting to adopt her outside of Tennessee.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
