My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Fisher was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on August 18, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Fisher, a lively and lovable dog who's eager to find his new family. Fisher has a zest for life and adores playing with toys. He's an expert tail wagger who will brighten your day with his joyful antics. Fisher loves scratches and enjoys sniffing his way around the play yards, exploring every corner with enthusiasm. Fisher is currently adjusting to the shelter environment, which may be causing him some heightened arousal and reactivity, and he'll need positive reinforcement training to work on not jumping. He'll benefit from an extended decompression period to help him shake off the stress, settle into his new home, and truly shine. While Fisher can be excitable and may need training to manage jumping up, his affectionate nature and playful spirit make him a fun-loving companion. With patience and consistency, Fisher will be an amazing addition to a loving home. Come meet Fisher and see how his boundless energy and charm can bring joy into your life!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
