Email for details:
Amara is available for adoption in a foster home. If you're interested
in adopting, please email us at sdcadoptions@sdhumane.org

How this pet arrived:
Amara was brought in by a community member on August 23, 2024.

Why Amara might be the one for you:
Amara is a courageous and resilient dog who is ready to find a place to call home. Although Amara came to us in rough shape and quite thin, she has been receiving excellent care from our medical team and has improved so much that she is now thriving in foster care. Her foster family says that Amara is super sweet and loves to be petted and will reward your kindness with her sweet, gentle nature. She gets along with everyone she meets. She is house and crate trained. If you're looking for a compassionate companion who appreciates a caring touch, Amara might just be the perfect match for you. Please email us to adopt and be part of her heartwarming journey to a happy and healthy future!

At SDHS:
Amar has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
