My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mindful, cutesy, and very demure. She's the girl of your dreams.
Some fast facts:
Mellow and Mindful - This girl is a great companion to both humans and dogs. She is not all over the dog's around her, but she does like to engage in play every once in a while. She likes to do more pack based activities such as pack walks, exploring together, and chasing squirrels together.
Cautious - Ginger was born with a deformed eyelid and other eye issues that have not provided her with the best eyesight. Though dog's use their noses to take in information, this has still affected how she feels about bigger and louder things in her environment. When she is unsure of something, she will bark. Showing her that everything is okay by checking out the "potential threat" is important in making Ginger feel safe.
Low - Medium Energy - She is easy going and down for whatever! An adventure to a new hiking spot or just a ride to get coffee, she enjoys whatever she can be a part of.
Pack Oriented - Ginger thrives with guidance. The leadership humans provide makes her feel safe and secure. She wants to be part of a group, valued, and respected.
Loves a good squirrel hunt - Ginger has skills that you would never believe! Including jumping a 6 foot fence to chase down her arch nemesis. If left out by herself, she will take advantage.
Loves a good bone to chew on!
Crate Trained
Currently working to get the medical concerns with her eyes taken care of before adoption!

Ginger is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue
