My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Violet!
I’m new here, I came from Alabama. I was living outside in a yard when I was rescued so living in a home is new to me but I am loving and adapting to it quite nicely. My foster mom says I’m showing my gratefulness by being a first class snuggler and super sweetheart of a girl. I’ve had a few liters of pups, I was a very good momma. I’m starting to shine as my new life has started.

My foster mom says I have very good manners, I’m potty trained, I don’t jump on people, I wait for my foster mom to go thru doors first and I don’t bark! My list learning new things will get much longer as I’m a smart girl too!
Walking on leash is new to me and I’m making great stride, pun intended! I like slow introductions to people but get comfortable around others quickly. Some chin, ear and butt scratches do the trick. I love laying in the sun. I give gentle kisses and I won’t lick your face off. My foster mom lets me be a lap dog but I’m ok just laying by her side too. She lets me sleep in the bed with her, I have a cute lil snore and I’m not a bed hog. I live alone with my foster mom now but like it very much when she has company.

I've been asked, "what would you like in a forever home, Violet?" Well, just the thought of a forever home makes me absolutely giddy! But if I can be a little greedy, and honest - I'd say that I am still working on my top wishes. I am pretty sure I'd love a yard where I can sun myself and feel the breezes. I also think I would love a couple people, in a quieter household. This could certainly change as I get used to kids and other animals.

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
