My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Maverick's adoption fee has been partially sponsored thanks to a generous donor*

Hey there, I’m Maverick! I’m a playful, curious pup from Alabama who’s ready to find my forever family here in Minnesota. I’m the only one out of my siblings with brown and white fur, which makes me one-of-a-kind! Here’s a little more about me:

I love exploring and am always curious about my surroundings. While loud, unfamiliar noises can startle me, I bounce back quickly with a little redirection. I’m a social guy who gets along great with other dogs and children—my two big fur siblings in my foster home have been showing me the ropes, and I’ve discovered that tug-of-war is definitely my favorite game!

But don’t let my playful nature fool you—I’m also a cuddle enthusiast! I’ll flip over on my back any chance I get for a belly rub. I absolutely love being around people and can’t wait to be your snuggle buddy!

I’m potty-trained on a schedule and I sleep soundly in my crate all night long. My foster mom is super impressed with how quickly I’ve learned and how well I’m adjusting to my new routine.

There’s so much more I could share, but the best way to see if we’re the perfect match is for you to come meet me in person! I promise, I’ll be the best boy and make your family the happiest. I can’t wait to meet you!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
