My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Marnie. My 4 puppies and I arrived in Minnesota the first weekend in September. I am settling in very well into my foster home away from my puppies and loving the my new life so far.

I know to do all my business outside.

I love being around my people but not on the needy way. There’s nothing more than I love sleeping in my humans bed at night. I’m not very vocal and am very gentle.

I get along well with every dog I’ve ever met. There is even a cat here. It hissed at me and I walked away wondering why, I just wanted to be its friend. My humans are quite certain he will grow to love me too.

I do well walking on a leash and even like to play ball. My favorite toy is a stuffed llama.

I’m excited to start my new life here and find the perfect loving home, is that yours?

***FOSTER TO ADOPT***
Marnie is heartworm positive and not yet spayed. She is currently going through heartworm treatment. Once her treatment is complete it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a microfilaria test in one month and a heartworm test in 9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Marnie will also need continued use of monthly heartworm preventives going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. Once she receives a negative result on her heartworm test she will need to be spayed. The adoption can be finalized once treatment in complete and she is spayed.
If you are interested in adopting Marnie, please fill out an adoption application.

--------------------------------------------
All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
