My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl eager for fresh start and love!

MOLUSCO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Molusco          Best Guess for Breed:   Lab and beagle mix

Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of September 2024         SEX:   Male

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):    17 lbs as of 9/7/24

Gets Along With:   Molusco is good with other dogs! We have tested him with some of the cats at the shelter and while he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that he could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!
We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested.

Currently Living at:    Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to escape!

Special Adoption Considerations: After being rescued from the streets, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Molusco would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.

Molusco is Looking For:   His forever home! Molusco is from a Puerto Rico shelter, basically a sweet puppy whohasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eager to get his own humans in the DC area. Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, all the adventures his new family can dream up - yes, please! Making new pup and people pals along the way sounds great to him too. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof.

He's just a big ol' sweetie who will make an awesome, loyal, loving companion. What do you say? Will he be yours?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
