PEPO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Pepo        Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and heeler mix

Best Guess for Age:  10 months as of September 2024     SEX: Male

Approximate Weight:  48 lbs as of 9/7/23; likely has a bit more to grow. 

Gets Along With:   Pepo is good with other dogs! We have tested him with some of the cats at the shelter and while he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that he could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!
We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested.

Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get his freedom flight here!

Special Adoption Considerations: After being rescued from the streets, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Pepo would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence.

Pepo is Looking For:   Hiya! I'm Pepo, and I'm looking for my forever family. I've been told they're in the DC area, far from my Puerto Rico shelter, and I can't wait to get up there! I'm a young boy and have lots of energy for playing with you and going on all those adventures with you and all that good stuff you get from having me by your side! I'll also help you test all those toys to see which are the best - ropes for tug? Balls for fetch? Plushies to squeak? Let's try them all! Cuddles and happy tail wags when I see you are part of the package, natch.
