My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Chappell was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 4th, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Chappell, a fun-loving girl with a big personality! Chappell is all about her people and absolutely adores pets, treats and chasing after tennis balls. She's a smart girl who knows how to "sit" and "lay down", walks well on leash and is food motivated. Her missing eye doesn't slow her down - and we think it makes her even more endearing! This cutie is happiest when she's the center of your attention, so she's looking for a home where she can be the only pet - no other furry friends, please! Chappell prefers to keep her adventures one-on-one with her favorite humans, so she isn't a candidate for off-leash venues or dog parks. Whether it's playing fetch or snuggling up for some quality time, Chappell is ready to be your loyal and loving companion! If you're looking for a new best friend who's sure to brighten your days, come by our Oceanside Campus and meet Chappell today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
