Madam Maxine: every moment spent with her is magical!

4 year old Maxine brings magic with her every where she goes! Her bright smile just lights up the room and it's impossible to ignore her.

Maxine was found as a lost dog smiling from the minute she was brought to the shelter. Her friendly personality lends herself to being a social and sweet pup! Though we're still getting to know her Maxine looks like she may have potential to be friendly with dogs- TBA on potential with kiddos.

Maxine is about 40lbs and extremely manageable in size. Her leash manners are stellar & she's incredibly treat motivated. Maxine is true best friend material, meet her in Newark, NJ to get to know her!

Thank you for your interest in adopting, please fill out the attached application to start the process once you see an animal you are interested in. Once reviewed we can set up a meeting, appointments are made daily from 12-4:30.

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
