With his vibrant red and white fur and a tail that curls like a question mark, William is as cute as they come. He’s not just a pretty face—he’s also an enthusiastic playmate who loves toys and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Whether it's a game of fetch or a playful romp in the yard, William is always up for some fun!

Though he's still working on his leash manners, William is potty trained and adjusting well to new environments. His outgoing nature means he’s quick to make new friends, both human and canine. He’s also a fan of getting plenty of pets and snuggles.

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes! You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
