Max is a social and affectionate hound mix with a short coat and inquisitive mind. He is even-tempered, fond of children, and gentle with his interactions. Max is a medium energy dog that enjoys being active and exploring the world with his nose. He can also occupy himself with a chew toy or puzzle, and enjoys long naps in between life's adventures.

He has been fostered in a multi-dog home, has a submissive play-style at the park, and attends doggy daycare several times per week. He may try to play with cats in the home, but could likely coexist with a dog-savvy cat plus close supervision. He has been fostered with young children and happily accepts their affection and pets.

Max is food-motivated and picks up training quickly. He knows basic commands like sit, down, and recall. He is house trained and generally signals when he needs to go outside. Max may bark at first in the crate, but typically settles after a few minutes. He would benefit from ongoing crate training in his adoptive home. Max walks well on a leash and makes friends wherever he goes.
