Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Peaks is a very handsome white with orange patches boy who is 9 years old. When Peaks first came to HART, he had a horrible eye infection that unfortunately led to him losing one of his eyes. He has since recovered and has adapted well to only having one eye!
He is a very loving kitty who enjoys the company of his roommates as well as our staff and volunteers. At first, he may appear to be hiding from you when you try to pet him, but he will soon come out into the room to make sure you see him. He has the cutest silent meow as well.
His remaining eye is being treated with an antiviral medication and is on some medication to help him with any stress to help with his urination. He had an issue with blood in his urine and changed his diet to address the bladder irritation. Peaks loves to cuddle up on people's laps and can often be found sleeping on the bench with his roommates. Peaks has continued to urinate on the walls at the shelter. Our medical team believes this may actually be a learned behavior at this point rather than medical.
Since Peaks has some health issues, his adopter will need to have an established relationship with a veterinarian. Our medical manager will call your vet to review his case with them.
Currently, he can go on hold. If you would like to give this guy a second chance, please let one of our adoption team members tell you how you can do that.
