My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roscoe came to Pathways from a hoarding case in Santa Cruz. He is a bit hesitant around humans because he hasn't had much interaction with them. Once you earn his trust, he is the sweetest boy and loves to receive affection. Roscoe is still fairly young, and with some encouragement he's open to playing. He just needs to know he is allowed to. Once you see his smile, you can't help but want to see it all the time. Our hope is that he finds a family who will strive to make him smile each day, going forward, as he deserves.

Roscoe is a 3-year-old Labrador retriever who gets along great with dogs of all sizes, we are unsure of how he would do with cats. Due to his shyness, he may do better in a home with older children. He will need some work with a leash; however, he is kennel trained. Roscoe will need some reinforcement with his potty training. He's never had to have indoor manners. He is current on all vaccines, microchipped and neutered.

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
