My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casper came to Pathways from a hoarding case in Santa Cruz. He has lived most of his life outside with a lot of dogs, mostly bigger than him.

Casper is almost 3, current on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. He does have a deformed back leg, but he doesn't let it stop him. He acts like any other dog at Pathways! Casper will need guidance with a leash, however he is kennel trained. Coming from a home where he rarely went inside, he will need continued potty training to learn proper indoor manners. Due to his lack of human interaction, we believe he would do best in a home with older children. We are unsure how he will do with cats.

Please complete an adoption application at www.pathwaysforpaws.com. If he fits your family and lifestyle, you will be contacted within 48 hours.

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
