My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever gone on a date and thought, “They are amazing! What’s the catch?” Well, Joey’s kinda like the best date you’ve ever had. Sweet, a good listener, great looking. Super cute! His long list of amazing qualities includes being friendly with other dogs and kids.

But nobody’s perfect, and Joey doesn’t like to be left alone. Consider him a stage 5 clinger. In his ideal world, a family member would always be home. When Joey’s person leaves he needs to be given medication and securely crated in an airline crate so he can’t cause an anxious mess. He does much better with other dogs in the home to keep him company.

Despite his separation anxiety, Joey is an amazing dog. In his home he’s learning to be more independent and give his person some space. He’s house-trained and so loving. Will you give him a chance to wow you?

Joey is close to 4 years old and weighs about 35 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and on monthly flea/heartworm prevention.

All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information.

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
