My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

ATDR

This handsome guy is Nathan! He was surrendered by a breeder who was sizing down on the number of pups she had. He is now sharing life in a comfortable ATDR foster home being well cared for, enjoyed and loved. He gets along well with the people and pups in the house!

Nathan is a very needy and loving dog who spent many years in a show ring and enjoying the company of other dachshunds. He’s good with other dogs but loves his human companions. He’d enjoy a place where he could keep someone company in a lay or on the sofa. He loves the outdoors and is working on house training and uses both a puppy pad and doggie door.

If you're looking for a loyal best friend and companion to snuggle and enjoy all the good things in life with, please submit an adoption application for Nathan. He'll fit right in your home and heart before you know it!

More about this rescue

All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Inc., is made up of a group of volunteers whose primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home disabled and otherwise endangered Dachshunds who have found themselves homeless for one reason or another. It is our policy that no dogs will be adopted out without first being spayed or neutered, have had all vaccines updated, are heartworm negative, are on heartworm preventative, and have had all other health issues we consider important to the pet’s life addressed that we are able.

All incoming Dachshunds will be placed in temporary foster homes, where they will be evaluated while living indoors with the foster families in a safe and nurturing home environment, until such time as they are ready to be placed in a loving, adoptive, forever home.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
