My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a transport set up to NorCal and OR leaving here from SoCal on 9/21/24 and we would love to add Colette to our trip for the right family!
Meet Colette ❤️❤️❤️❤️

She is a 2 year old, shih tzu/poodle mix. Yes, she is hypoallergenic so you won't have to worry about her shedding. She weighs approximately 10/12 lbs. She is set to be spayed on 9/17/24 and once we have her exact weight we will update it here. She will also be current on all vaccines, microchipped, thourely examined, and cleared by our vet prior to adoption.

She is WONDERFUL with ALL animals. She was raised in a home with cats, so she is well acclimated to living peacefully with them if there are new cats in her next home. She is GREAT with all the dogs she has met while with us, but she doesn't really interact with them as she has more of an independent nature and prefers to be on the sidelines observing other dogs play verses actually engaging with them. She would make a great friend to literally any animal, if they want companionship she definitely has that to offer them plus she is a great cuddler whether with dogs or humans 😊 so that's a plus in our books 🙃

She is QUIET! She just isn't a barker which we love because we definitely have a few who use their voices around here 🤦🏻‍♀️ She is serene tempered, and naturally SWEET. She is everything anyone could ever want in a companion, as she is happy just knowing she makes you happy ♥️ She is NOT high maintenance at all. She is very independent. Will nap near by in her crate and tends to use the crate over a dog bed in the home (a dog bed is in her crate which she uses ☺️.) She loves blankets, and to snuggle in them as well. We haven't brought her into our room just yet, and thought that should happen in her next home so that she can learn that comfort through a family all her own and maybe decide their bed is better in the end 💕

She is WONDERFUL with men, women, and children alike. She does not have a mean bone anywhere in her body and truly loves everyone. She has a very carefree personality and is a go with the flow kinda girl ♥️

She is learning the leash, and is doing good at it, she definitely needs more practice to build her confidence on the leash, but once she masters it she will love all that it adds to her life. Her prior owner never walked her, due to limited mobility on their end to do so. They loved having her as their companion in their home, but knew in the end her life was limited and wanted her to live a life she deserved full of the world she would never have gotton to know if they kept her so they reached out to us to take her in and find her the BEST life 💕

She is house trained, and will go outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day. She is great on road trips, making her the BEST traveling partner. She loves her spa days with our groomer, so pampering is definitely a must in her next home.

She loves cuddles. Loves her treats (especially her greenies 😊.)

Colette is a special soul, looking for an amazing new home with an amazing new human/family to call her own. She deserves to be a part of her own home again where she can take her rightful place in the heart/hearts of those who get the honor of loving her forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Her adoption fee along with its final breakdown after her spay will be under her adoption listing on our website at breadoflifek9refuge.org. It will cover her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, exam with our vet, time, care, grooming costs, and training since with us. If anything in addition is needed such a a dental cleaning, etc. then additional costs will be added to help offset all that has been done.

Their adoption process

1.

Interview

When we have out of area adoptions, we always schedule a phone interview first to ensure the dog inquired about is the perfect fit.

2.

Home Check

We request photos/videos of your home and yard space to ensure it's safe for the dog you are inquiring about.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once all requirements are met, we will schedule a travel plan to bring your pup/dog to you. Adoption contracts are usually signed in person.

4.

Pay Fee

Adoption fees are paid in person, unless other arrangements have been made due to distance/travel plans requiring fees to be paid ahead

5.

Take the Pet Home

Once all above is met, the dog becomes the new adopting families pet and goes home with them.
