Hello! I'm Mahita, a happy mixed breed pup estimated to be about 2 years old and weighing 40 pounds. We don’t know who my parents are, but my foster mom thinks I may have some Australian Shepherd or German Shepherd in me, combined with a sprinkle of smaller breeds!
🐶 My Personality! 🥰
I’m all about loyalty and companionship! I thrive on being by my human’s side, and I’m ready to shower you with love and affection. I am pretty well mannered with kids (no nipping) and would be happy to have some human friends my size to grow up with!
🐕 That said, I am selective with my dog friends and would do best in a home for the time being where I'm the only dog while I work on my training and manners with other furry friends. A future younger doggy sibling is a possibility as I love to wrestle around!
🐈I have not socialized with any cats, but I do have a moderate prey drive so my natural instincts may insist that I chase them around if they roam the house.
🦌 🐿️ 🐄 Outdoor wildlife and farm animals excite me! I’ll try to run in their direction and be very vocal to let you know there might be danger ahead.
🏃♂️⚽️📿 I LOVE to be active and require a family that also loves the same, who will take me on adventures, long walks, and play fetch and tug-of war all day, until I’m ready for a nap by your side. I’m very high energy and try to outlast my humans 😁
🚽Housebreaking:
I’m making excellent progress in housebreaking! As long as I am taken out before 8am and given some time to do my business, I’m doing great not having accidents in the house. Although, I can get a bit excited or anxious during greetings with new human friends or when you and I are apart and finally see each other again (even if it’s just an hour 🫣) —sometimes I might tinkle a little on the floor in the excitement of the moment, but I’m learning! My foster mom helps me stay calm by keeping her tone low and always being patient with me as she knows I’m not doing it on purpose.
😴 Sleep Habits:
Although I prefer to have free range of the house if I hear a sound and want to explore, I’m okay in a large crate with a comfy bed, and will settle in after about 10-15 minutes. If it were up to me though, I’d never leave my favorite human’s side and would snuggle up next to you! Squishing my foster mom is one of my FAVORITE things to do at bedtime 🥰
🏡 Ideal Family❤️:
✅ very active and have as much energy as I do!
✅ loyal and patient, giving me lots of your time to continue to train me on commands and manners
✅ no other dogs or cats for now, but possibly in the future!
✅ I would also love a human friend my size to play tug of war with and snuggle with at bedtime
✅ larger fenced in yard would be ideal, as I love to run around and play fetch but can get easily distracted by other dogs barking and wildlife roaming nearby!
✅ best friends for life ❤️
